At Ocado, fostering a culture of inclusion and diversity isn’t just a corporate policy - it’s lived every day through our employee networks. One such network is Pride at Ocado, a long-standing community supporting LGBTQ+ employees across the business. We spoke to Shane Ludlow, Process Improvement Specialist and Co-Chair of Pride for Logistics, about his experiences, initiatives, and what makes Ocado an inclusive workplace.
Pride at Ocado Community Network
Pride at Ocado is one of the company’s oldest employee networks. Its purpose is simple yet impactful: provide support, create safe spaces, and share information for LGBTQ+ employees and our allies.
The network also collaborates with the business to review policies, ensuring they reflect the real experiences and needs of employees. From safe spaces to inclusive policies, the group acts as a bridge between employees and leadership.
Diversity at Ocado is about feeling safe, included, and valued for who you are. The Pride network ensures managers have the right tools to have meaningful conversations and that employees have access to there sources they need.
For Shane, this is particularly important in logistics - a traditionally male-dominated environment, where fostering an inclusive culture helps break down stereotypes and makes every employee feel welcome.
Shane’s work with Pride at Ocado highlights the importance of active inclusion and visible support across all parts of the business. By fostering safe spaces, updating policies, and breaking down stereotypes, the network ensures every employee can bring their whole self to work.
At Ocado, inclusion isn’t just a value, it’s an action, and employees like Shane are leading the way.
